In the fall of 2022, a group of dedicated Canadian Arabian Breeders from all walks of life banded together to found a new National Show for the country of Canada with less than 10 weeks to plan it. Canada’s Inaugural National Arabian Championship was held on September 27 - October 02, 2022 in Red Deer, Alberta.
Thanks to a unanimous decision from the board of directors of the Canadian Arabian Horse Registry, the show was able to operate under the auspices of the CAHR on a one-time basis in 2022. A large group of volunteers assembled to operate a home coming “so to speak” to allow Canada to operate a National Show for the benefit of Breeders and Trainers’ across North America for the first time in several years.
In 2023, many new and exciting changes are occurring, firstly the formation of a brand new not for profit society namely “The National Arabian Breed Society”. This new society will be solely be the “stand alone entity” responsible for the operation of this horse show from 2023 forward. Sanctioned in Canada by Equestrian Canada as a Silver Level Show and with a groundswell of support from across North America, CNAC has become the proverbial “Peoples Show”. Founded by the People-For the People of North America. We welcome everyone to our show to enjoy a slice of Canadian hospitality.
Our pledge to everyone that comes through our doors, is that everyone that attends our show as an exhibitor, spectator or volunteer will be treated as a V.I.P.

Canada's National Arabian Championship was an exquisite experience for our horses and riders. The Red Deer community was beyond welcoming and made our time in Canada just perfect! We look forward to the future shows to come and we can't wait to be part of the awesomely passionate environment that the CNAC has to offer.
The Arabian horse community is a family, but CNAC portrayed an unrivaled level of sportsmanship and sincerity to all. A ribbon may put a smile on a competitor’s face, but no material item will compare to the lighthearted and hospitable atmosphere that this show brought to exhibitors and supporters alike. Being reunited with Canadian friends for the first time in several years was sensational, and opportunity to attend a national level show with such a tranquil environment is one that will have many returning for years to come.
It was most definitely a feeling of unity and gathering...there were no VIP sections, as we were all VIP's.
